Metropolis: Design Environment for Heterogeneous Systems
نویسندگان
چکیده
Metropolis is a system design environment in which designs are carried out by a well-de ned methodology that orthogonalizes and localizes design concerns, captures design decisions and requirements explicitly and unambiguously, and exploits the underlying theoretical framework to e ectively apply a tool-set throughout the design phases. The project, supported by the Gigascale Silicon Research Center, is in a process of prototyping the infrastructure and the tool-set of the environment, and applying the methodology to design drivers in various application domains. This paper presents a brief overview of the project, and reports the status and future plans.

Designing a Model for Controlling and Handling the Power Exercising Environment for Urban Planning Process Based on Grounded Theory; a Case Study of Mashhad Metropolis
Aims & Backgrounds: Lack of readings of concepts such as power has caused irreparable damages to the body of cities. In Iran, due to the domination of traditional viewpoint of planning, this concept has not paid much attention. An urban power exercising environment, deviating from the expected process, in addition to cause the domination of the powerful people on urban topics, has marginalized ...
متن کاملMetropolis: A Development Environment to Facilitate Platform-Based Design
Metropolis is an integrated development environment for system-level design that embodies the concepts of the platform-based design methodology. Metropolis is based on a Metamodel with formal semantics and allows not only design capture, but also formal analysis, synthesis and simulation. After reviewing the basic concepts behind Metropolis, we will describe a realistic use-case scenario that s...
متن کاملParallel Simulation in Metropolis
Electronic system design has been becoming more and more complex. It is very common to have dozens of IP modules in a single system. To quickly simulate the system is becoming a challenge. On the other hand, computing facilities, on which people run actual simulation, are becoming more and more powerful by having more powerful single processor and by building parallel machines. However, there i...
متن کاملSimple Case Study in Metropolis
The case study documented in this tutorial exercises the capabilities of the Metropolis Design Environment with an industrial-sized design. As a typical design example in Metropolis, this case study consists of a functional network, an architectural network, and a mapping network. The functional network models a simple application where data is obtained from two independent sources, manipulated...
